Comandos meets Golden Axe meets Christmas
Before moving to the stealth level design, I need to make a few changes on the current version of the Merlin game to better accommodate the new mechanics (and also improve some of the things I did in a hurry for the last jam).
The camera control: The camera waits until the puzzle is done and starts moving to the next one. Ideally, as in the other action side scroller games, the camera movement should be based on the player. Follow the player to the next area and then position itself in the center for the action. Once the action is done, it goes back to the player until the player reaches the next area and so on. I did a small video for the Golden Axe camera movement for my own reference, you can see below
Merlin's movements: For the Picnic season jam, Merlin moved only from one rune to the other. So right now, to move Merlin, we need runes. But we won't have runes in this new game and we also need a finer tuned way to move. We will change the movement to anywhere the player clicked in the scene. Most of the player's control will be based in Comandos, for my own reference I did a small video you can check below:
Also, the Picnic Season Jam game has no sound. I really want to add some sounds if I have time.
