The game is shaping up and I have a very first playable version of the game. Some details and overall instructions on the game can be found in the video below
With the first playable version of the game up, I am planning the next additions. Trying to focus on the smallest scope possible I came up with the following backlog:
- The UI must be hidden or reviewed since it blocks most of the screen in squared windows (like 4:3). Maybe the camera can be moved a bit so it gets out of the way for a click.
- The mission system must be implemented: basically Merlin needs to deliver presents so from time to time a present will spawn somewhere in the map, Merlin needs to grab it and deliver it (somewhere indicated at the map as well).
- So far we have only two kinds of infractions: parking at no parking zone and exceeding the speed limit of an area. I need to find a way to properly indicate these areas so the player knows when an infraction is occurring
- For the no parking zones, the No Parking sign in the UI blinks for a few seconds before issuing the ticket
- Add the Paywall SDK and the game over condition when the player doesn't pay for the fines. I will add a "Second Chance" popup similar to hyper casual games. Basically the popup will ask the player to pay the fines or loose the game and start again.
- The player should also have the options to pay the fines before they expire in the game UI somewhere
- I need to figure out the best way to set the price based on the amount of fines.
- Bugs, balancing and polishing. There is a LOT to do here...
